Note that, although we advertise in our listings (under the “shipping and payments” tab) that we usually ship within 5 business days (weekends excluded) of cleared payment, instruments usually ship between 1 and 3 business days. Please bear in mind that instruments go through final quality control inspection, set-up, and sometimes transfer from secondary warehouses before shipping. There are rare occasions when a problem is discovered with an item or we experience a crisis (we all do) and a little extra time is needed before shipping. We appreciate your patience in all cases. As can be seen from our rating and feedback, we strive for excellence in all aspects of what we do and typically ship items in a timely manner.
NOTE: Whenever FREE “Standard Shipping” (we currently use FedEx) is offered on our items, it only applies to the lower 48 continental states, unless specified differently in the listing. International and other US customers may inquire for quotes and shipping options. We sometimes offer discounted rates to other locations, in consideration of the FREE shipping to the lower 48.
NOTE 2: FedEx and UPS do not deliver to PO Boxes (only USPS does). For items that we advertise with standard shipping (FedEx), the item must ship to a physical street address. Buyers using Paypal MUST have a physical street address as the ship-to address and it MUST appear in the shipping details of the Paypal receipt that we receive. No exceptions.
IMPORTANT NOTICE: If you choose payment via credit card during the payment “checkout” process, the payment is not automatically sent to us (the seller) when you choose that option and complete checkout. In that case, the buyer must contact us directly with the card information for it to be processed through our terminal. Note that, if the buyer’s credit card is a associated with the buyer’s Paypal account, the Paypal option may be selected and then credit card option selected within the Paypal system. In that case, there is no need to contact us, the seller.
Note that ebay and Paypal policy mandates that we require a signature on all items of $250 or more to be eligible for “seller protection”. This is for the seller’s protection, as well as the protection of the buyer’s merchandise. Most of our items ship via FedEx now and they make 3 delivery attempts, including typical Saturday “home delivery”. They do not make Monday “home deliveries”. It is the buyer’s responsibility to be available to sign for and receive the package for delivery or to contact the shipper to arrange a pickup at a local center or to make other arrangement with the shipper, if possible. The number for FedEx is 1-800-463-3339. Also based on Paypal policy, we must ship to the address in the shipping details of the Paypal invoice we receive for the item purchase. We cannot ship to a secondary or gift address, unless it has been added to the Paypal account and selected before payment is made for an item.
We offer a 3 month layaway plan with 20% down payment on select items. Feel free to inquire for details.
Shipping to Hawaii, Puerto Rico and other US territories are not eligible for “Standard Shipping” rates. Customers from those locations and Alaska must inquire for a shipping quote before initiating a purchase. Also, buyers with certain government and/or military (APO/FPO, etc.) addresses are NOT eligible for lower 48 US shipping rates and need to inquire for a shipping quote before initiating a purchase.
If Paypal is used for payment, in accordance with Paypal’s recommendation and for our protection, we will only ship to the address shown under “Shipping Information” on the Paypal payment confirmation email that we receive. For domestic shipping we use FedEx, so buyers must have a physical address associated with their account before Paypal payment is made. Please note that gift addresses and secondary addresses like a work address CAN be added to an account now for domestic shipping purposes. This must be done in advance of payment being made.
International buyers note: FedEx or UPS shipping to many locations. Where eligible, USPS Priority available to confirmed PayPal addresses when that payment method is used. Buyers may inquire for options.
AUSTRALIAN BUYERS’ NOTE: The USPS Priority International Mail size limit to Australia is just 79 total inches (length plus girth) which is too small to ship a full-size guitar there with that option. The only possible way to get a full-size instrument in that range for the Priority Mail rate is for us to remove the neck for shipping with the buyer responsible to reinstall it upon arrival (a small fee applies for the neck removal). Obviously, this is not possible with a neck-thru guitar. Shipping via FedEx “best day” economy on a standard full-size guitar typically costs between $175 and $250, depending on the type of guitar and the specific destination. We need a city and postal code to an accurate quote. Other shipping options for larger items to Australia are UPS and USPS Global Express, but those are generally more expensive. Typical rates with Global Express are between $250 and $350, depending on package size and weight and if there is a case involved.
INTERNATIONAL BUYERS NOTE 2: Be aware that there will likely be import taxes charged on your item upon arrival in the destination country. Any questions you have related to this should be directed to your country’s Customs Office, as we are in no way connected with that aspect of the sale. (It is our understanding and has been confirmed a number of times that items under $1000 going to Australia enter there without import tax)
INTERNATIONAL BUYERS NOTE 3: We do not ship to secondary or alternate addresses when the Paypal payment method is used, but only to the verified AND approved addresses listed on buyers’ Paypal accounts.
INTERNATIONAL BUYERS NOTE 4: We only declare factual information, including full price, of items sold. We do not falsify customs documents for international sales.
INTERNATIONAL BUYERS NOTE 5: As per eBay’s new policies related to handling time and return policy (effective May 1, 2012), in order to be eligible for seller discounts on Final Value Fees, we will sometimes need to input tracking information into the eBay system up to a week before international packages actually ship. This will especially hold true in cases where an item has to be transferred from a secondary warehouse before shipping to the customer. With that in mind, our one-day handling typically only applies to domestic packages, though there will be a good amount of situations where items will ship in the same time frame as domestic ones. Please email any questions you may have in regard to this and make purchases with that understanding.
Though we post that we allow 7 days to make payment after the initiation of purchase, buyers should inform us if there will be a delay in payment being made.
Feedback is currently typically left upon request and after we are sure that the buyer has received and is satisfied with the item and purchase.
